SHARON RAE; Ohio Dance Educator of the Year 2005; Midwest Dance Educator of the Year 2006; holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts and an M.S. in Education, plus an Ohio Teaching License, K-12, & is currently an instructor at Mount Union College. Sharon has coordinated and taught programs for the University of Akron, and the City of Akron, Portage Lakes Enrichment, and is a former teacher at Miller South School for the Performing Arts. She also teaches and develops programs for Akron Public Schools. Sharon coordinated The Longest Kickline down Main Street breaking the Guinness Book of World Records. She is a member of Ohio Dance, Dance Masters of America, Dance Educators of America, American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, as well as the National Dance Association. Sharon has worked with Directors from New York including Bob McGrath of TV’s Sesame Street. Her award winning choreography has been performed on the stages of E J Thomas Performing Arts Hall, the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, and Carnegie Hall in New York City. She also choreographs many winning numbers for such programs as Shell Oil, Estee Lauder, and Corporate Challenge, as well as Show Choirs, High School, and Community Theatre.
LISA, Teacher/Business Manager, graduated from the University of Akron with a B.S. degree. She also studied at Kent State where she received certification to teach dance. She is a member of Dance Masters of Ohio & America. Lisa has performed with the Kings Island Touring Shows & The Florida Citrus Bowl. She enjoys classes at the Broadway Dance Center in NYC and seeing Broadway musicals. Lisa specializes in the young dancer & her bubbly personality make learning fun for her students.
DEANA, Teacher, earned her certificate to teach dance and gymnastics at Kent State University. She is a member of Dance Masters of America and Ohio Dance. Deana has studied acting, dance, and voice at The University of Akron. She is also certified with NDEITA as an aerobics instructor & is a licensed Kindermusik educator. She also teaches in the Akron Public System with 21st Century Programs, and in Copley-Fairlawn schools. Deana toured the United States performing and demonstrating all types of dance with Dance Olympus. She has performed with The Cleveland Thunderbolts Dance Line, Kings Island Amusement Park, The Florida Citrus Bowl, various trade shows, and numerous Kings Production Touring Shows. She continues to study dance from some of the best teachers in the country. She also choreographs for high schools, dance lines, and community theatre.
MEGAN, Teacher, has been studying dance for the last 17 years. She is a Junior Member of Dance Masters; choreographer & student director of the Encores Show Choir; teacher in Akron Public after school programs; and organized and choreographed the first dance team at Our Lady of the Elms. Megan has performed with Bob McGrath of Sesame Street, at Walt Disney World, and Carnegie Hall. She has taken home numerous awards at competitions, including Grand National Champions. She is also active in theatre, where she received the Georgie Award at N.C. Playhouse. Megan attends many master classes and has spent the last two summers at Buffalo University taking classes from dance professionals. She also studies at the Broadway Dance Center every chance she gets.
MARIAH, Office & Teacher Assistant, is beginning her 16th year of dance with many accomplishments. She has performed in a Sesame Street Production, at Carnegie Hall in NYC, Disney World in Orlando, and many local festivals and shows. She received a Superior Award at Ameridance Camp, and attends many dance conventions and classes at Broadway Dance Center when possible. Mariah has performed in Dear Edwina and Schoolhouse Rock, and also teaches after-school programs in the Akron Public Schools.
